Invoices and autopay

Bill once. Get paid on time, every time.

An invoice with a pay link. A payment scheduled for payday. Rent that collects itself on the first. Flow does the chasing so you do not.

Invoices

An invoice your customer can pay from their phone

Add the lines, set the due date, send. The customer gets a clean page with your name on it and a Pay button. When they pay, the invoice marks itself paid.

  • Line items with quantities and amounts, and a printable page for their records
  • A pay link and a QR code on every invoice
  • Reminders sent for you: 3 days before the due date, on the due date, and 7 days after
  • Pay by card or bank, one-time or on a date they pick
  • Your software is told the moment it is paid
Scheduled payments

"Can I pay on Friday?" Yes.

On the pay page the customer picks a date on a calendar. Flow saves their card or bank account and collects it on that day. You see it on your Scheduled page until it lands.

  • Any date on the calendar, today or later
  • The customer can move or cancel it from their account before the day
  • A date is never charged twice, even if a server hiccups
Recurring payments

Rent, retainers and memberships that collect themselves

The customer chooses Recurring on the pay page: weekly, every two weeks or monthly. Flow charges the saved method on each date and sends both of you a receipt.

  • If a charge fails, Flow tries once more three days later
  • If that fails too, the schedule turns off and you both get an email, so nobody is surprised
  • The customer can pause or cancel from their account; you can from yours

Autopay from your own software

If you bill from software, your software can save a customer's payment method once and charge it whenever a bill is due. Flow keeps the method; your software keeps the bills.

1. Save it once

Your software sends the customer a setup link. They enter a card or bank account one time. Flow stores it with the processor; your software only ever sees a label like "Visa ending 4242".

2. Charge when due

When a bill is due, your software asks Flow to charge it. The request carries a key that names the bill and the try, so the same bill can never be charged twice.

3. Hear the result

Flow tells your software whether it succeeded, failed, was returned or refunded, and lists it in your Flow account and in the customer's.

This is how DW Resident collects rent today. The details are on the Developers page.

Your customers get a place to look things up

Fewer "did my payment go through?" messages.

Sign in by link

No password. Flow emails a one-time link. It works on any phone.

Receipts and invoices

Every receipt, every open invoice with a Pay button, every upcoming payment.

Their choices

Move the date of an upcoming payment, cancel it, replace or remove a saved card or bank account.

What an invoice costsNothing to send. You pay Flow's one fee only when the invoice is paid, taken out of the payout: a $1,600 rent by bank costs $9.00 and no bank payment costs more than $15.00; card payments are 3.4% + $0.30, less on large ones. No monthly fee.

Estimates and quotes

Flow sends invoices, not estimates. Quotes that turn into invoices are being built in Dark Water Invoicing and will use Flow to collect.

Usage-based billing

Flow charges fixed amounts on a schedule or on demand from your software. If you bill by usage, your software works out the amount and asks Flow to charge it.

From invoice to paid.

Create your account, connect your bank, send your first payment link. One price per payment, one deposit, your name on everything. No monthly fee.
